JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Director of Talent Acquisition, you will direct and oversee all aspects of Under Canvas' hiring, both seasonal camp employees and corporate level contributors. This encompasses recruiting, sourcing, branding, screening, all the way through hiring, onboarding, and employee relation/retention initiatives. This role will work in close partnership with leadership and hiring managers across the organization to identify staffing needs and procure qualified candidates. This is an amazing opportunity to own an entire recruiting/hiring department, creating high functioning and incredibly important part of our success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

-Design, direct and oversee all aspects of the talent acquisition function from sourcing to on-boarding.


-Develop creative and innovative strategies for sourcing and acquiring top talent. Develop recruitment initiatives, services, and solutions that align with the strategic direction of the company. 


-Direct a recruiting team, coach staff, establish and manage productivity goals, and provide performance management.  


-Collaborate with key senior leaders and hiring managers fully understand their hiring objectives. Provide service with a consultative orientation, attention to detail, follow up and follow through. 

-Build relationships with key internal/external partners to assure that the talent pipelines are appropriately developed and maintained. 


-Assist in developing an employer brand proposition and campaign that promotes our culture in order to better attract candidates.


-Coach and counsel leadership around talent acquisition strategies in order to increase their proficiency and engagement in sourcing and attracting top talent. 


-Establish key reporting related to hiring processes, approach to analyzing activity and trends through appropriate data collection and metrics along with anecdotal summaries of market intelligence. 


-Apply creative strategies to determine the appropriate types of hiring. 

-Research and procure new ATS system.  

 

COMPETENCIES

-Bachelor's degree and minimum of 7 years of progressive talent acquisition experience with preference given to those recruiting in outdoor or hospitality industry.


-Demonstrated expertise sourcing, recruiting and placing talent from a multi-source pipeline.


-Expert knowledge in full life-cycle recruitment, including thorough pre-qualification screening, behavioral interviewing and closing professional level candidates across multiple levels and disciplines.

-Ability to set and balance short- and long-term priorities and remain focused within a rigorous, fast-paced and dynamic environment. 

-Can connect and communicate with all candidates, from a C-level to seasonal camp staff.

-Experience evaluating, selecting and implementing applicant tracking systems/tools.


-Proven experiencing in reducing or eliminating the use of outside recruiters. 


-Superior written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.


-Proficiency in successfully handling and resolving issues, disagreements and disputes that impact or impede relationships between recruiting team and hiring managers. 


-Expertise in suggesting and selling new and effective alternatives to current recruitment practices based on business dynamics and needs. Effective in presenting oneself as a business partner to gain trust and respect of hiring teams. 


-Expertise in managing and prioritizing the intake of new job requisitions to gain efficiencies and set clear expectations for deliverable with hiring manager.
